Greg Wood

Principal

What makes Greg Wood an exceptional attorney is his relentless desire to win, for his clients and for the sake of winning. Greg's first trial was a real estate case in which the plaintiff was claiming defendant failed to complete the sale of residential property. Representing the defendant, Greg wrestled money from the broker's insurance company to pay for the defense and won the case. He has won in cases both big and small ever since.

Greg specializes in representing employers against former employees who embezzled and/or misappropriated trade secrets. Greg has litigated a number of embezzlement cases. He is also at the forefront of trade secret litigation, having a critical appellate opinion published by the California Court of Appeal. He is an expert in what information a departing employee can take with them.

Greg started in San Diego at the largest plaintiff's class action firm that existed at the time. That firm was heading for a breakup, so within a year he moved north and joined a well-regarded San Francisco-East Bay firm practicing real estate, employment and intellectual property litigation. While he learned the basics of a defense practice, Greg became outside general counsel to a global manufacturing company.

Greg's next move was to join a boutique San Francisco litigation firm where he was thrown into the fire, handling cases through trial. The principal of the firm taught Greg everything he needed to know about managing cases, counsel and clients. Within five years, Greg made partner and proceeded to build a book of business. Now, fifteen years after that, he manages the firm. Greg is grateful to have litigated a variety of disputes. The top land use firm in the City refers him developers with complicated legal issues. The top real estate brokerage refers home/buyers and sellers. Greg has bench and jury trial experience in real estate, wage and hour and business tort cases. Greg is also panel counsel for an accountant malpractice defense carrier, and defends CPAs in tax, audit and embezzlement cases in that role.

By far Greg views his greatest achievement as finding the best lawyers in the state with whom to work. Greg loves the practice of law, meeting with new clients, strategizing how best to position the case, but even more loves working with the other fine lawyers of the firm, who are equally as smart and dedicated.
